June 3

Another night spent with the firmament
unknowing she accompanies me
in thinking things the way they ought to be
I find it better to concede
Out of the west you'll see the light come in
it's moving faster than me
high in the hills will be illuminant
a light the valleys won't see
June 3, went easy on me
coming to, locked in a room all morning
headed out, where the daylight abounds
coming through, as if they even knew you
Come up for air and take the whole lake in
a pulsing green moves with the trees
the lustful pace of our summer day
now lies beyond the dying reeds
A quickened steps a sign of weariness
entangled limbs a sign of peace
if nothing else there is a precedent
under the gold of autumn's leaves

Thinking too much
04:12

The door announces her
her moves kept tidy and it claims her as earth's
sun on the floor
awake once more
With hands that move to you
awake too early in dawn's sturdy blue
the light reaches you
I'll be home soon
But the night resists, and I'm running back to,
places lived. and I'm sorting through my regrets
but I'm not like them, at least I'm hopeful
that I will have lived
The room it warms to you
it speaks your colors and I hear them too
sun on the floor
same place it was before
Each line is ripped from me
the place that made us reminds me to breathe
I've been here before
and will be once more

A Stones Throw
05:32
|

With a breath of sun and skin, I can feel this begin
complacently akin, to places not yet been
there's light beyond the walls and above our earthly stall
but the place where it begins, still reeks of dirt and skin
Candle burn strong, the light will carry on
a fog that cuts a line, through a flock of empty pine
the earth is still before the rain it will endure
but you, you sound like spring as you blush above the knee
A stones throw, the windows,
a stone's thrown and I'll go
to skies, they'll gaze at night
knowing beauty hides from sight
The wind reaches her hair, she can feel the balmy air
a charge with which I'm blessed, to be beauty's witness
our youth's what makes us hurt and returns us to the earth
try as though one might, to run from their own night
A scene of life unfolds, I was there from what I'm told
that day you colored me and that night that I found peace
I'll kneel 'cause no one's there as the light bursts through the air
take moments as they come, don't wait for perfect ones
